80 mph winner ski boat,Very Fast race boat

This is a winner ski boat that Mike Ivy at Ivy’s Marine, in Flowood Mississippi, completely rebuilt. He put a 2.5 Mercury race engine on it. As you can see it is not only Fast but very stable.

Maybe you can help me out since you rebuilt a winner.. I have one question……

I know the stringers are wood free..
Is there wood in that transom?

I guess you might not know as you probably did not have to rebuild the transom so it has never been opened up…

Same engine on a real race boat (IE – Bullet 1750 / 1850) does 100mph all day!
Take it down to your local powerboat club and have a run in “Open Mono” and see how fast you think it is…….lol

    Did you steal it?

I’m working on an 86 WINNER ski boat right now and the transom in it is DEFINATELY made of wood as this one is rotten. The rest of the boat is as solid as a rock though.

its actually not a race boat, its just a fast normal boat

  14. trouble32408 says:

    its not running 80mph though…..

  15. propman4 says:

Everyone has their own apinion. I weight around 300lb with my 10lb camera, The shot from inside the boat with the GPS showed only 80MPH, mind you that was with BOTH of us in the boat. The shots of the boat running with only Mike driving were actually around 82!!!!! Thank You!

  16. trouble32408 says:

if you say it’ll run 80, thats good enough for me. thats fast in that type of boat! thats fast in any type of boat as far as that goes.
has the engine been worked on?
and also, wear a life jacket man! a kill switch wouldnt hurt either.

  17. propman4 says:

The engine has been worked on and the hull has been modified with a better pad.
And yes we do not run a boat without Life Jackets and kill switches any more. I was filming the Bass Boat Crash!!
