Your eyes are the focal point of your face. People notice your eyes first. General rules of color are to use deeper colors with dark eyes, lighter colors with light eyes. Usually, color gets absorbed by dark skin.
Richer eye colors like copper, gold, browns, deep grays, navy and violets are appropriate for dark eyes. With light eyes select specific blues, taupes, khaki, ginger and light grays.
BEAUTY TIP: White eyeshadow is a staple. You can use white eyeshadow to open your eyes when you apply it on the inner corners of your eyes. To lift your eyes, apply white eye shadow on your brow bones. You can also use white eye shadow when you use a heavy hand applying makeup and you want to soften your look.
BEAUTY TIP: Baby oil is good to keep on hand to mix together with eyeshadows and blush for creating creamy consistencies to formulations of makeup.
It’s recommended that you choose three shades of similar colors for making up your eyes. This will help you achieve a more polished look.
First, apply the lightest color from your lash line to your brow. Secondly, apply the medium color of eyeshadow from your lash line to right above the crease of your eyes. Then, apply dark eyeshadow with an eyeliner brush lining your eyes around your lash lines.
BEAUTY TIP: Before applying eye makeup dust your eyelids with powder, to help prevent eyeshadow from melting and creasing. This will create an oil-free eye area to apply eyeshadow smoothly.
BEAUTY TIP: To get a wet look with your eyelids, that is also long lasting, apply lip gloss on your eyelids and then apply eyeshadow. Eyeshadow will adhere on the gloss base.
BEAUTY TIPS ON EYELINER APPLICATIONS:
To widen the area between your eyes with close-set eyes, try this with eyeliner: Draw a line on the outer third of your upper lids. Use brown, black or gray liner. Gently smudge the line. Draw a lighter line on your inner eyes with a lighter color eyeliner.
To make small eyes appear a little bigger, try this: Apply a dark line that gradually gets thicker towards the outer edges of your eyes. Take a silver, gold or white pencil and apply a line under lower lashes.
To create an appearance of less heavy lids with deep set eyes:
On your upper lash line, apply a line of pale, shimmery liner. Next, draw a line on the outer edges under lower lashes with a gray or taupe soft, neutral color.
To create the appearance of lifting drooping eyes:
Draw a line very close to your lashes on the outer third of your eyes. Creatively, sweep the line up on the corners of your eyes.
What kind of eyeliners should you use?
Liquid Liner: It’s the most fun because it’s often easiest to apply and longest lasting. Yet it requires more practice.
Pencils: You can blend pencil lines for a real natural look and application is easiest to control.
By rolling the point of the pencil between the fingers of your hand, you can get body heat to soften the pencil so that it will not drag your eyes.
To create very precise lines, put the pencil in the fridge and chill for about an hour before using.
Look for silicone as an ingredient in eye pencils. Silicone has the longest wearability.
After applying eye pencil, the liner sets in ten or fifteen seconds. So smudge the liner immediately.
BEAUTY TIP: For a softer look with eyeshadow instead of liner, rim your eyes by moistening the tip of a clean eyeliner wand with water and cover it with a deep eyeshadow and then apply a line close to your upper lash line and also on your lower lash line.
You complete your eye makeup by finishing with your lashes.
Using an eyelash curler will add a more youthful, wider and more alert look with your eyes. Always curl your lashes before using mascara.
It can give you “an instant eye lift.”
To make lashes thicker and give mascara more of “a hold” lightly apply powder to lashes.
Use your hair dryer to heat the eyelash curler for a few seconds.
That will work as “a curling iron for the eyes.”
BEAUTY TIP: To get a more rounded curl, use the eyelash curler twice.
Place your lashes inside the two rims. Gently squeeze for about thirty seconds. Again, place the lash curler at mid-lash, squeeze for an additional thirty seconds. The look can be very natural.
Apply a second application of mascara, focusing on the tips of your lashes by brushing the mascara wand horizontally across your lashes. Apply more mascara without waiting for the first application to dry. Mascara dries quickly, clumping easily, particularly waterproof mascara. It’s recommended to just lightly apply mascara on lower lashes.
BEAUTY TIP: After applying mascara, dip black mascara within blue eyeshadow and concentrate application on the outer corners of your eyes and the tips of your lashes. It will make an interesting look.
Curling mascaras that have an elastic quality are on the market.
When lashes dry, mascara shrinks slightly and flips up.
You can also try combs that help with clumps. Use the comb after each coat of mascara.

Modern living has its’ drawbacks to our complexions, our bodies. Try a regular schedule for detoxing to give you healthier skin, body and to add beauty to the way you look.
Stress, late nights, processed foods, lack of exercise, smoke and alcohol all cause overtaxing on our organs, not to mention it’s affect on our complexions. Dull, lifeless skin and fatigue result from poor habits.
Detoxifying your system counteracts these symptoms. By temporarily removing some foods from the diet, you can rest your digestive system, make your skin glow and be refreshed.
Start with eating only fresh, raw fruits and vegetables, just one day every week. During that 24 hour day, avoid nicotine, caffeine, drugs and alcohol or do it forever!
If you have a serious illness or are pregnant, you should avoid fasting.
The day before and the day after fasting, avoid meat, sugar, dairy, saturated fats, wheat and complex carbohyrates. Eat simply for maximum results. This can be done.
You will be surprised at how much clearer you will feel by having lots of salads, steamed vegetables, fresh fruits, raw nuts, beans, soups and avocados.
During the three days of fasting, also increase filtered water in your diet. Make sure to drink 8 glasses of filtered water or more. Try to buy organic fruits and vegetables for fasting. If it’s not possible to buy organic fruits and vegetables, wash them with a brush designed to remove pesticides and chemicals. Eat all fruits and vegetables raw. Blend into smoothies, as juice, or prepared as salads. Use lemon juice for salad dressing.
To help the cleansing, start the day drinking hot lemon tea. Boil filtered water and add fresh lemon juice from sliced lemons. When juicing, add a slice of fresh ginger.
After success with this regimen for a few weeks, try having a day where you consume only the juices of fruits and vegetables for even better results with detoxing and cleansing. It’s preferable the juices are prepared using a juicer. If that’s not possible, drink organic juices with no additives.
When you are successful with this regimen, try for three days once or twice a year of consuming only juices.
You will be able to improve your skin and look and feel healthier after fasting on fruits and vegetables for a time!

?Getting Organized for Homeschooling

If you want to have a more enjoyable homeschooling experience, good planning and organization is essential. Even if you adopt a more eclectic style of homeschooling, being organized in your routine and materials will prevent stress and aggravation in your day.

First of all, an important part of getting organized is making sure you are in compliance with your state’s homeschooling laws. Whether the state you live in is more restrictive or flexible will have a bearing on what kinds of records you keep.

If you live in a state with more stringent requirements, a homeschool planner may be essential so you can easily create monthly or yearly progress reports. These are also helpful if you’re keeping transcripts. Of course, if you enroll your child in a virtual school or certain “in a box” curriculums, you can opt to have records kept for you. If you have a hard time with paperwork that may be a good option for your family.

Homeschool planners help you keep track of textbook and workbook pages covered, projects completed, unit studies you went over, field trips attended, books read, and daily attendance. You can purchase these in stores or online, or create your own. It can be simple or elaborate – a 3 ring binder can suffice if you’re so inclined, or you can search online for free homschool planning worksheets. If your state requires more documentation, it might be best to go with a more elaborate system for your peace of mind.

Reducing clutter is important when you’re homeschooling. Books, workbooks, art materials, DVDs, computer software, etc can quickly get out of hand and spread all over the house. In order to minimize this, assess your situation and figure out what system makes the most sense for your family. If your kids are older you may want to keep their homeschooling supplies centrally located in the kitchen, study or living room, wherever you spend the most time doing school. If your kids are younger (or if you have toddlers who may get into things and damage them!), you may want to keep your supplies high up in the kitchen or on bookshelves, out of reach but easily accessible for you to get at them quickly.

A cabinet in the kitchen, a filing cabinet, a shelf, a large plastic container, etc – most of us already have these in our homes. You can organize art materials, paints, paper, pencils and erasers in smaller plastic tubs or containers with lids so everything stays together. If you have multiple kids homeschooling, you may want to have a color coded system so everyone knows where their stuff is. It might help to think like a preschool teacher – each kid has a cubby to store their gear.

As a homeschooling parent, you might find that a Sunday night review/planning session before you start your week means everything goes more smoothly. It’s good also to reassess every once in awhile so homeschooling stays enjoyable and rewarding. What’s working well? What’s not working? Simple adjustments can be very helpful in getting back on track.

Remember that learning can get messy! Relax your standards a bit and be ok with messies. Don’t hamper your kid’s excitement for learning by expecting perfection when it comes to cleanliness. One way to minimize the mess is to take learning outside or to the library. If everyone’s getting stir crazy and you need a burst of energy, head out for the day.

?Beauty Plans And Suggestions For Improving Your Looks

Everyone of us possesses the potential to be well groomed and looking good. Here is a checklist of plans and suggestions that will help you get started on the beautifying process.
When you look at your image, think of yourself in terms of the whole picture. Instead of concentrating on just one element, regard each aspect of your total appearance as all part of your complete image composition.
For example, your assessories, clothes and shoes are seen with your hair and make up, consisting of the total picture.
Visualize your new image. Think about yourself and imagine yourself with an improved image. Imagine looking great wearing a tiny bikini or looking gorgeous in a classic black party number. Or picture the look your loved ones will give you when they see a slimmer, more svelte you. Keep those positive images in your mind as you exercise, go to the dentist or dermatologist, eat well, exfoliate and do whatever is necessary to work towards your goals.
Look at why you want to make changes and whatever reasons are required for change. Ideally, looking good for yourself should be enough motivation for change but if that’s not enough, think about more motives to inspire you.
For example, getting an ideal partner or a dream job; that will become possible by becoming more beautiful.
Determine your weaknesses: work them out. Make an assessment. Step forward in front of a long, full length mirror, angle a second hand held mirror so that you are able to see your front, sides and back. See what it is about your appearance that needs improvement and then think about ways that hopefully it’s possible to improve your looks. For example, if you need to lose weight to improve your appearance, start thinking about your diet and exercise routine. Also, think about clothes that will help you look better.
Don’t get upset over minor flaws. You can visualize a problem as far worse that it is if you worry too much over a minor imperfection – a wrinkle, pimple or stretchmark.
Make up a plan ie. a list of ways that you can reinvent yourself. Write on paper or make a list on your computer of all the things that can be done to help you transform yourself. Take into consideration how, where and when you will need to do these things. Think about visiting a beauty counter to learn a new way to apply make up or budget yourself and buy Avon beauty products, schedule an appointment to get your hair colored or highlighted, have your teeth fixed, or go through and organize your wardrobe.
Don’t get discouraged while you are following through on plans to reinvent yourself. When you start exercising or decide to do a skin care regime, you need to be patient with yourself. Don’t give up before you see any benefits from your routine. Once you notice positive things happening, such as weight loss or glowing skin, you will be motivated!
Set aside some playtime. Take an evening to play with your clothes, hair and make up. You can develop some new looks for yourself and work on making progress with your image.
Be positive and feel beautiful about yourself. Positive thinking and being optimistic about the Way your appearance is improving will go along way towards improving your attitude and self confidence.
Be well groomed. Possessing beauty intelligence presupposes focusing on the details. For example, check for clothing discrepancies such as a hanging hemline or missing buttons, seek to match eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick or lipstick and blush, remove facial or body hair, maintain nails, keep neat and clean.
Make new beauty resolutions. Resolve to give yourself five new beauty ideas to improve your looks. Choose realistic, achieveable things that can be done to improve your appearance. For example, add healthier foods in your diet, start skin-brushing ie. exfoliation weekly, floss your teeth each night and do facial exercises daily.
With some effort, you can be looking good and feeling beautiful!

Fieldtrips are great way for homeschooling families to add some excitement and some real life learning experiences to the day. It can get tedious to stay at home most of the day and work out of textbooks and workbooks. Even computer work and games can become monotonous. Fieldtrips provide an opportunity to get out of the house, get some fresh air, learn some new things, and interact with new people. Here are some ideas for fieldtrips that are educational and fun!

Zoos, Wildlife Preserves, and State Parks – Most cities and towns have zoos and wildlife preserves and many people live within driving distance of a great State Park. All of these venues give children the opportunity to actually experience natural science first hand. They interact with animals and learn about the ones that live in their area of the world…what they eat, when they sleep, their social habits, and more. These places are also wonderful for learning about different plant species that our local animal life depend on for survival and how human actions may be impacting them. It might be helpful to look online to see what these places offer and then write up a list of questions your kids have. Help them find the answers while they visit.

Art Galleries – Even if your kids aren’t particularly interested in art, most find galleries to be fun and interesting. Many even have exhibits that feature the work of child artists. Take a look around and have your children write down the names of their favorite artists. Afterwards you can research each artist and learn more about their life and their work.

History and Science Museums – Children of all ages usually love history and science museums. History museums give them a look into mysterious times long ago. What child can resist a dinosaur, caveman, or ancient Egyptian exhibit? Not only can they see how people lived in times past they can see first hand what prehistoric creatures like the Wooly Mammoth or the Saber Tooth Tiger looked like. Science museums usually give children an opportunity to learn about science by seeing different scientific principles in practice. They may be able to about pressure and the effects of gas by launching a bottle rocket or learn about lasers by using mirrors on a grid. These museums also have seasonal exhibits that are sure to delight children of all ages so check with yours often to see what they offer.

Farms – Homeschoolers can learn about farming and agriculture first hand by visiting local farms. Many even provide an opportunity for tours or for you to pick your own produce. This allows them to connect with their own food chain and perhaps trace their food from farm to plate. The economics of food distribution is another area they can learn about that is practical and valuable to know. Some farms have special days were younger children can get involved in farm chores as well.

Local fieldtrip spots are not hard to find and your children will greatly appreciate the opportunities.

Do you know about these wonderful books? They are all fantastic resources for homeschooling parents. There are many wonderful books written by and for homeschooling parents. These are some of the bestselling favorites that homeschooling parents recommend over and over.

100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum by Cathy Duffy –
The key to a happy homeschooling experience is to marry the curriculum you choose (or create) with your overall educational philosophy. This book helps you do just that. It’s a must read for parents at the beginning of their homeschool journey or anyone who wants to breathe fresh life into their child’s home education.

The Core Knowledge Series – If you’re concerned about your child keeping up with their non homeschooled peers, the Core Knowledge series is for you. The books are titled “What your first grader should know”, “What your second grader should know”, etc. You could in fact use these volumes as a guideline to create your own curriculum.

The Kingfisher Books – The Kingfisher First Animal Book and The Kingfisher First Human Body Book are wonderful for preschoolers and young children and could form the basis of early science curriculum. The other titles in the Kingfisher lineup are also excellent resource materials for homeschooling families.

Susan Wise Bauer’s Story of The World – Susan Wise Bauer is a homeschooling advocate and author of several books on classical homeschooling. Her Story of the World history books are favorites among home educators. They create a real, living history experience for children and are enjoyable for parents too. The series have companion workbooks for those who want to use them alongside the volumes.

John Holt’s Teach Your Own and How Children Learn – John Holt, a public school teacher turned unschooling advocate, has written many groundbreaking books on the topic of how children learn. Even if you don’t adopt an unschooling style, reading these books will give you confidence that as a homeschooling parent you’re capable of educating your child well.

The Ultimate Book of Homeschooling Ideas by Linda Dobson – This one is another favorite of homeschoolers everywhere. One of the challenges we face is coming up with ways to teach our kids (and ourselves!) the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic from day to day. This book offers hundreds of ideas you can try to keep things fresh and interesting.

The Unschooling Handbook by Mary Griffiths – Unschooling, or child directed learning, is practiced by an estimated 10 – 15% of American parents. This book teaches you how to use the “whole world as your child’s curriculum” and is a breath of fresh air to parents who trust their children to learn naturally with minimal outside interference.

?Arts and Crafts for Homeschool

If you are not particularly artistic or crafty yourself it may be difficult to make sure your homeschooled child is getting enough opportunities for artistic expression. Artistic expression though can be a foundation for writing and for self expression so it is important that art and crafts be an important part of any homeschool curriculum. It is fairly easy to incorporate art into the school routine though. Here are few tips:

Make it From Scratch – Instead of buying new play dough or finger paints make your own with your children as helpers. Recipes can be found online and children will get to practice their measuring (math) and cooking skills too. Homemade art supplies are also healthier and less toxic than what you can buy at stores. Not only will your kids have a blast playing with these items they will have just as much fun making them.

Make Art Fun – Instead of sitting your child down with a paintbrush and a small canvas why not set them up with a big canvas in an outdoor area, some quality tempera paints, some water balloons, and some darts. Inflate the balloons just a bit, add some paint, close them, and attach them too the canvas with tacks. Then your kids can throw darts at the balloons and create art with the paint splatter. No child can resist this incredibly fun project. Later they can sign it and hang it in their bedroom or playroom.

Other fun projects include painting rocks, using body paints to mimic the body painting found in many tribal cultures, and using sidewalk chalks and paint.

Use the library – Your local library will no doubt have many books on various arts and crafts projects for kids. Look for books with unplugged projects, seasonal crafts ideas, and paper crafting like origami. Read the books together and decided which projects you will work on.

Go Digital – Art doesn’t have to be all about paper, paints, and getting and your hands dirty anymore. Digital arts and paint programs are gaining in popularity. Kid Pix and Disney Magic Artist Deluxe are two popular programs. They allow children to use digital paper and many different artistic techniques to create beautiful works of art that can be saved and even printed for framing. This method saves you a bundle on supplies.

Make it Educational – Art can also be educational. Have your children roll play dough into small marble shaped balls of different colors and use them as counting and math manipulatives. The same pieces can be used to learn colors and to practice sorting.

Allow free Expression – Don’t get in the habit of correcting your child’s technique or telling them which colors to use. Let them create their own art. Author Susan Striker of Young at Art discourages using coloring books because most of the artwork has already been done. She has a wonderful line of anti-coloring books available for purchase that give kids an opportunity to create on their own terms without outside interference or guidance.

So now that you have some fresh ideas…get busy!

Attract the Universe and Achieve Your Goals

The Universal Law of Attraction can be a very effective tool in making you achieve your goals and practically everything else you want to have in this lifetime. You will realize that desire should always start from within, and the world will just obey your thoughts, actions and ideas. Here are some guidelines on how to get your objectives just the way you want.

Ask the Universe

According to the Universal Law of Attraction, ask the universe and it shall give to you. However, to achieve your goals, you have to truly have an idea about what kind of thing or event you want to happen in your life. There are plenty of items that you can ask from the world. The most common are superficial things such as money, a new car, a new house, etc. More meaningful items include better relationships with your family or wife, happiness in your job and life, etc. All of these can be given to you at the time you want and in the extent you need.

The Way You Ask

The way you ask the universe will also matter. Keep in mind that the universe will immediately hear and respond in the manner you believe in. Your first thought might go, ‘I want a brand new Ferrari.’ The world will then respond, ‘Your wish is my command.’ However, other thoughts can still enter such as, ‘But it may still be when I’m in my 40′s.’ or ‘But it will happen when I get the promotion.’ or even ‘It can’t happen.’ The world will just say yes to everything you inject in your thoughts.

The time, extent, severity and other details of your wish will be determined by your mind alone. If you have any doubt or disbelief about the power of the universe to provide, then it will truly give to you accordingly. Make sure you clean your thoughts thoroughly so that you set your goals straight and allow the universe to perform the best way.

Your Actions

Once you have set your goals and asked from the universe, your mind, thoughts and body will start acting automatically to lead towards the goals and objectives. You will subconsciously accomplish small tasks and open up a wide array of opportunities that are meant to direct you to the ultimate mark. Renew your goals each morning as you wake up and your body will just function immediately towards these.

Work both consciously and subconsciously. Remember that it also requires effort and discipline on your part to receive the best things in life. Do not expect everything to just fall into place. If you want to land that promotion, then you should start going to work early, volunteer for projects and show that you are prepared for bigger responsibilities.

Staying Positive

The Universal Law of Attraction helps you achieve your goals, as long as you remain positive. Always believe that the universe is capable of providing immediately. Anything can actually happen, in the time you have set. Always be optimistic in the face of adversary. It is not impossible that you will encounter a few problems along the way, but what’s more important is how you relate to the situation in a positive light. Be conscious about what’s happening and act to alleviate the effects.

Bad Traits to Avoid If You Wish to Achieve Your Goals

A lot of people stay unsuccessful or have alternating experiences with success and failure, simply because they do not know that they have many bad traits. Bad traits pertain to habits and personal characteristics that ultimately lead to failure. Some of the things you’ve been so used to doing for several years may be the main reason why you struggle much.

The Basic Bad Habits

Laziness is one of the negative habits that a loser has. The worse thing is, lazy people usually do not want to get rid of the problem. If you want to achieve your goals, you need to understand the value of hard work and perseverance. Some of the greatest people in the world are known to work way more than those who did not leave a mark. The greats work longer hours, sleep less, eat less, wake up earlier and suffer more than anybody else. It takes sacrifice to reach your goals. The most important thing to know is that everything you have ever wanted is just outside your comfort zone.

Another bad habit that people have dealt with for several years is fear. They fear things and events without even trying. Some people are even afraid of success subconsciously in a way that they refute any opportunity that can make them great. Some people do not realize that they just do not or cannot handle the bigger responsibilities that achieved goals come with. You should understand that once you reach a certain goal, it can mean that the bar has just been raised for you to accomplish more.

Personal Bad Traits

Selfishness is a bad trait that you need to get rid of to achieve your goals. There are individuals who do not want to get help from others because they do not want to share their expected success. What’s sad is that most of them do not actually reach their goals. There is so much joy and celebration for every success that can be shared between several individuals. There is even so much money in the world for everyone to stay rich. Even if you may be better off doing some things yourself, still you cannot do everything.

Being Negative

Pessimism is a trait of losers. Losers always find a reason to lose, even if the situation or opportunity is already presenting itself. In most cases, pessimism is tied up to fear. Seeing things in a negative light will result to bad results too, most of the time. If you start your day negatively, everything else will already seem bad, so you will focus more on the little things that do not matter and let them bother you, instead of keeping your mind on your goals.

Seeking Help

The first step to treating bad habits to achieve your goals is to look at yourself as a confident, capable and strong individual. You are responsible for whatever happens in your life. Although problems are bound to happen, you know that you always have the ability to stay successful in life as you choose. Minor setbacks are supposed to be a means for you to become better and stronger.

Write a list down indicating all your weaknesses and bad traits. Next, put the opposite trait for each. The opposite traits are now your new characteristics to be adopted. Start practicing one good trait per week or month, then add another one for consistency. Over time, you will realize that success follows you because of your positive aura.
