@geturphil69 1) you bring up the point, again, of “fished for sport”
2) it may be a common denominator, but i assure you its not the LEAST common denominator.
@akny007 in small instances like a pond getting muddy from heavy rain, or an algal bloom from fertilizer run-off or extreme circumstances like an asteroid strike or volcano eruption but this isn’t like that. like you said, we don’t know the full impact so it’s best to minimize the damage. I’m not going to sit here and wait decades for the environment to self-correct. that’s what all the industrialists that have destroyed the environment for 2-4 centuries thought.
@akny007 yeah, fishing is a sport. Its a huge industry, all over the world. it is a fucking S-P-O-R-T. also, you should do some research before you act like you know whats best for the environment. carp ARE a problem to other fish populations and are unfit to eat. people like bass-perch-crappie-catfish-etc. not carp. you seem to not be able to accept that animals die horrible deaths every day… If you wanna bitch about something go check out animals being skinned alive in china for their fur.
@asianwannabeamerican im not sure if i typed it out wrong or you misunderstood what i was trying to say. i was referring to the carp when i said “it could be self-correcting…”
anyway, there is one discussion here but its relating to 2 diff aspects. the main idea is that you are comparing “nature” (carp) to something “man-made” (oil, industrialists).
they are two different branches of discussion, like oil and water (no that was not supposed to be a joke) and cannot coincide “peacefully”.

@akny007 i didn’t misunderstand. I was using that as an example. but I don’t think you understand the environmental impact this will have. you’re under the false assumption that these species will be similar to the common carp, also an invasive nuisance but one that has been able to peacefully coexist with healthy native populations. that’s what self-correcting is. Asian carp cannot do this. if you care about animals not being killed, then you should SUPPORT this. stop carp from killing natives

@akny007 when it comes to fishing, many catch and release. thats what i do when i go fishing. a sport is anything requiring skill OR physical capability and a competitive nature. why dont you look sport up in the dictionary? and no that wouldn’t be alright for you to kill me- and you know that… so don’t be a dumbass and use that as an example. i think im done w/ this convo.. the fact is that it happens and you’re not going to do anything about it. have a nice day.

Sorry for the repeat question. I understand from the vid and comments that carp is not good eating but why is that? Does the meat taste bad? Are they all boney?
@stockjonebills no they can be eaten they are just hated because they steal the food from other fishes as well as eat them
