thoes halibut where weakkkkkk some not even legal.
Those aren’t halibut, they’re flounder, and good size at that. I could only wish we had halibut down here cause they get huge and are tasty too! Come on down to Topsail Island sometime Flounder fishing, it’s good right now!

Having fishing trouble at topsail. I’m not a local buti do have a boat so i randomly went offshore to about 40 ft. depth about 1/2 mile away from pier. All i could catch was tiny croaker, 3-4 foot sharks who enjoy stealing my tackle, and some black sea bass which i guess is nice. Why cant I hook a large not-shark fish? Using cut up croaker and shrimp btw.
if you wanna catch big fish that close you should use live bait not bottom fishing but just cast it out with no weight or troll, you can catch kingfish right off the beach
